Dip Ingredients
  • 8 oz full-fat sour cream Adds richness and creaminess; substitute with Greek yogurt for a tangy twist.
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese Provides a luscious base; use Neufchâtel for a lighter option.
  • 2 oz grated Parmesan cheese Adds a salty, umami flavor; swap with pecorino for a sharper taste.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Elevates the flavor; fresh minced garlic gives a punch and freshness.
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion Deepens the overall savor; fresh onion will also work, but reduces the dip’s shelf life.
  • 1 tablespoon olive brine Ties the dip together with saltiness; lemon juice can add a bright twist.
  • 5.75 oz jar olives, drained and chopped The star of the dish; any variety works, but kalamata or green olives bring unique flavors.
  • Kosher salt Enhances all other flavors; sea salt is a good alternative.
  • Fresh cracked pepper Adds a touch of spice; use white pepper for a subtler kick.
  • Pita crackers for serving Crunchy base pairs well with the smooth dip; tortilla chips or veggie sticks can serve as healthier alternatives.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried minced onion, olive brine, and a couple large pinches of salt and pepper.
  2. Use an electric mixer to whip the mixture until smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. Gently fold in the chopped olives and season the dip to your taste with additional salt and pepper.
  4. If desired, garnish with sliced olives for a pop of color.
  5. Serve with pita crackers, inviting everyone to dive into this creamy goodness.

Notes

Allow the dip to chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors. Freezing isn’t recommended for this dip as it may change the texture of the cream ingredients.
