Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 500°F.
- Grease a 12-inch round pizza pan with olive oil.
- In a large bowl, combine self-rising flour and Greek yogurt until a ball forms.
- If the dough feels too sticky, sprinkle in additional flour until manageable.
- Transfer the dough to the greased pizza pan and spread it out uniformly.
- Create a ridge around the perimeter of the dough to help contain toppings.
Baking
- Bake the crust for 12 minutes until it starts to turn golden.
- After 12 minutes, lower the oven temperature to 450°F.
- Spread pizza sauce over the crust, and top with cheese and any desired toppings.
- If desired, brush the crust with garlic butter.
- Return the pizza to the oven for another 6 to 8 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
- Optionally, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
To achieve the perfect crust, preheat the oven well, avoid overworking the dough, and use a balanced thickness when spreading the dough in the pan. For a crispier crust, add toppings promptly after baking.
