  • 4 medium medium russet or Idaho potatoes (7 ounces each) Ideal starch content; Yukon golds can also work.
  • as needed spray Olive oil spray Substitutions: canola or avocado oil.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Kosher salt Sea salt or table salt can serve as substitutes.
  • to taste Freshly ground black pepper Can swap with other spices like paprika.
Optional Toppings
  • as desired Sour cream, Greek yogurt, butter, chili, chives, and broccoli with cheese. Mix and match according to preferences.

Preparation
  1. Using a fork, pierce the potatoes all over to release steam during cooking.
  2. Spray each potato with olive oil and season generously with Kosher salt.
  3. Arrange the potatoes in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
Cooking
  1. Air fry at 400°F for 35 to 40 minutes, turning halfway through. Test for doneness with a knife.
  2. Split the potatoes open, season with additional salt and pepper, and load up with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the fryer and always pierce the potatoes to prevent bursting. Experiment with various toppings.
