Ingredients
  

For the Sandwich
  • 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese For flavor
  • 4 oz Monterey Jack cheese For meltiness
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Softened at room temperature, can substitute with mayonnaise
  • 2 slices bread Any bread of your choice, sourdough or whole wheat recommended
Optional Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For added flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning For herbaceous touch

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Let 2 tablespoons unsalted butter sit at room temperature until softened.
  2. Heat an air fryer to 375 degrees F.
  3. Grate the sharp cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, and toss together in a medium bowl.
  4. Assemble the sandwiches by buttering one side of each slice of bread.
  5. Place cheese on the non-buttered side of 2 slices and close with the butter-side-up slices.
Cooking
  1. Place sandwiches in the air fryer and air fry for 3 minutes.
  2. Flip and cook until the top is golden brown for an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. If needed, flip again and cook for 1 to 2 minutes more until golden.

Notes

Serve with a side of tomato soup or a fresh salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days, and you can freeze individual sandwiches for up to one month.
