Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken tenders Use fresh or thawed tenders for maximum juiciness.
  • 1/4 cup honey Adds sweetness; maple syrup can be used as an alternative.
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted Richness is essential; can substitute with olive oil.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic creates the best flavor, but pre-minced can save time.
  • 1 tsp paprika Provides subtle smokiness; can substitute with cayenne for heat.
  • 1 tsp salt Essential for taste; adjust according to dietary needs.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper Adds depth; white pepper can provide a milder flavor.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular) Use gluten-free crumbs for a GF option.
  • to taste cooking spray Can use olive oil spray or brush on oil.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix together honey, melted butter, minced garlic, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Add chicken tenders to the bowl and coat them evenly with the honey garlic mixture.
  3. On a separate plate, spread the breadcrumbs and dredge each chicken tender in the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully coated.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and spray the basket with cooking spray.
  2. Place the breaded chicken tenders in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap.
  3. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  4. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, double-dip the chicken tenders in the honey mixture and breadcrumbs. You can also experiment with herbs by adding dried oregano or Italian seasoning to the breadcrumb mixture.
