Preparation
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onions, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Form into patties.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
Cooking
- In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms, stir, and cook for 1 minute to eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring continuously. Cook until the mixture thickens, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and mix well. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer for 5-7 minutes until patties are heated through and thoroughly coated in gravy.
- Plate the patties and smother with mushroom gravy. Enjoy this hearty, satisfying meal!
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the ground beef with seasonings a few hours ahead of time. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to three days or frozen for up to three months.
