  • 1 tsp garlic powder Fresh minced garlic is an excellent alternative.
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce Soy sauce can be used for a different twist.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Enhances all flavors but adjust according to preference.
  • 2 cups beef broth Use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
Vegetable Ingredients
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced Earthy flavor; omit if not a mushroom fan or substitute with bell peppers.
  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed Frozen green beans are also suitable.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into patties and place them in a greased baking dish.
Cooking
  1. In a saucepan, bring the beef broth to a boil, then reduce the heat and add sliced mushrooms and green beans.
  2. Pour the broth mixture over the patties in the baking dish.
  3. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  4. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the patties are cooked through and everything is heated. Serve warm.

Notes

Keep an eye on your ingredient measurements. Not greasing the baking dish may lead to sticking. Overbaking can dry out the patties, so watch carefully! Let the bake rest for a few minutes after removing it from the oven before serving.
