  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted Butter, softened stick with unsalted for better control over salt levels.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon-Style Mustard swap with whole grain mustard for extra texture.
  • 1/4 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese sharp cheddar gives depth, but feel free to mix cheeses.
  • 5 ounces Brie Cheese, sliced choose a creamy brie for maximum meltiness.
  • 1 medium Apple, thinly sliced granny smith provides a nice tartness, balancing the flavors.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Thyme Leaves rosemary is an excellent alternative for a different profile.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the bread slices on a flat surface.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice to ensure every bite is buttery and delicious.
  3. Flip them over and spread the Dijon-style mustard on the unbuttered sides.
  4. On two slices of bread, layer the shredded cheddar, sliced brie, apple slices, and thyme leaves.
  5. Top with the remaining slices, buttered side facing out.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the sandwiches to the pan.
  2. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula until the bread is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  3. Remove from the pan, slice in half, and serve hot.
