Preparation
- Place the bread slices on a flat surface.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice to ensure every bite is buttery and delicious.
- Flip them over and spread the Dijon-style mustard on the unbuttered sides.
- On two slices of bread, layer the shredded cheddar, sliced brie, apple slices, and thyme leaves.
- Top with the remaining slices, buttered side facing out.
Cooking
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the sandwiches to the pan.
- Cook for 3 to 5 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula until the bread is golden and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from the pan, slice in half, and serve hot.
Notes
Serve with a crisp green salad or creamy tomato soup. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat on a skillet for the best texture. Can freeze preassembled sandwiches tightly wrapped to prevent freezer burn.
