Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 whole ripe avocado Ensure it's ripe for the best flavor.
  • 3 cloves garlic Adjust to taste if you're sensitive to garlic.
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped Parsley can be a substitute if you're not a fan of cilantro.
  • 1 whole jalapeño Remove the seeds for a mild flavor.
  • ¼ cup vegan sour cream Vegan yogurt works for a lighter version.
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise (vegan, olive-oil based) Choose a healthier version.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice Always opt for fresh over bottled.
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder Can be omitted if you’re not a cumin lover.
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder Garlic powder could be a suitable alternative.
  • ½ teaspoon salt Adjust according to preference.
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper Can be replaced with cayenne for extra heat.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and dry the avocados. Cut each avocado in half, carefully remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a food processor.
  2. Add the garlic cloves and chopped cilantro to the processor.
  3. If using, remove the stems and seeds of the jalapeño and chop it into smaller pieces. Add it to the food processor.
  4. Add the remaining ingredients: vegan sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, cumin powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Pulse everything together until the mixture is creamy and well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

This dressing is versatile! Use it as a dip, drizzle over tacos, or add to salads. Keep it in an airtight container; lasts up to a week, but best when fresh.
