Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottom intact, and slice them into thin wedges without cutting all the way through.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, oats, and chopped pecans.
  4. Gently stuff the mixture into the crevices of the apples.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter over the stuffed apples.
  6. Place the apples in a baking dish and pour caramel sauce over them.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the filling is bubbly.
  2. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Notes

Let the apples cool slightly after baking for easier handling and serving. You can freeze these apples layered with parchment paper between layers.
