  • 1 tablespoon honey Adds a natural sweetness; maple syrup serves as a great substitute for a deeper flavor.
  • 1 small to medium garlic clove Infuses flavor; roasted garlic also works well for a sweeter tone.
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt Enhances essential flavors; adjust as needed for dietary preferences.
  • 10 twists freshly ground black pepper Adds freshness; red pepper flakes can be substituted for more heat.
  • 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional for those who enjoy a spicy kick.
For Serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit with a rack in the upper third of the oven.
  2. In a food processor, combine the goat cheese, cream cheese, 1 tablespoon of honey, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Process the mixture until smooth, about 2 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Transfer the cheese mixture to an oven-safe baking dish and spread it evenly.
  5. Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of honey, and bake for 13 to 15 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  6. After removing from the oven, drizzle with another teaspoon of honey, let cool for 5 minutes, then serve with your chosen accompaniments.

Notes

Serve warm, and consider pairing with wine or light cocktails for a complete experience. Allow leftovers to cool completely before storing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Can freeze, but texture may change upon thawing.
