Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 pounds skinless salmon fillet Tender fish serves as the star of this dish; opt for fresh or even frozen and thawed salmon for convenience.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Adds a smoky depth; substitute with regular paprika if you prefer a milder flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Provides a sweet, aromatic taste; fresh onion can also be finely chopped for a stronger kick.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Infuses the dish with great flavor; you may also use fresh minced garlic for an extra punch.
  • to taste none Kosher salt and pepper Essential for seasoning; adjust to your personal preference.
Bang Bang Sauce
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Creamy base for the sauce; Greek yogurt is a lighter alternative if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce Adds sweetness; you could use honey or agave syrup mixed with a dash of vinegar as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce Brings heat; if sriracha is too spicy, try a milder hot sauce.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha sauce until smooth to make the Bang Bang Sauce.
  3. Cubed salmon fillets into a mixing bowl and sprinkle with smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of Kosher salt and pepper. Toss to ensure even coating.
Cooking
  1. Add a heaping spoonful of the prepared Bang Bang Sauce to the salmon, mixing gently to combine.
  2. Arrange the salmon in a single layer on the lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake for about 8 minutes, then switch your oven settings to broil for an additional 1-2 minutes, achieving a beautiful caramelized color.
  4. Once cooked, mix the salmon bites with the remaining Bang Bang Sauce for a flavorful finish.
  5. Serve over cooked rice if desired.

Notes

For a fresh twist, try adding chopped green onions or cilantro as a garnish. If you prefer a crunchier texture, serve the salmon with a light drizzle of panko breadcrumbs before broiling. Pair this dish with a refreshing side salad.
