  • 1 cup salsa Choose your favorite brand or make your own.

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Use fresh minced garlic for a bolder flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice Fresh lime juice is best, but lemon juice can work too.
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or Monterey Jack; use dairy-free cheese for a vegan option.

Preparation
  1. In a blender or food processor, combine black beans, salsa, cumin, garlic powder, and lime juice. Blend until smooth.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and top with shredded cheese.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips or vegetables.

Notes

Refrigerating for at least 30 minutes before serving enhances flavor. This dip can be served hot or chilled and can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
