Ingredients

For the dipping oil
  • 1 cup good-quality extra virgin olive oil Look for cold-pressed or first-press oils for the best taste.
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar Provides a tangy contrast; consider red wine vinegar for a lighter option.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder You can swap in fresh minced garlic for a stronger flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano You can use Italian seasoning if necessary.
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes Adjust the amount based on your spice preference.
  • a pinch flake salt Sea salt can be a fantastic alternative.
  • 2-3 tablespoons fresh grated Parmigiano Reggiano Parmesan cheese can also work.
For serving
  • 2 good-quality baguettes Any crusty bread will do.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, dried oregano, crushed red pepper flakes, and flake salt; stir to combine until all the ingredients mingle perfectly.
  2. Top the mixture with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano, allowing it to melt slightly into the oil.
  3. Serve with sliced baguette or any crusty bread, inviting laughter, conversation, and indulgence at the table.

Notes

Use good quality olive oil for the best flavor. Let the oil rest for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld. Serve in a shallow dish for easy dipping.
