Method
Cooking the Pasta
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
Adding Broccoli
- In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pasta water. Drain and set aside.
Combining Ingredients
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the cooked pasta and broccoli to the skillet. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a sauce.
- Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
Serving
- Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. For a heartier meal, consider adding grilled chicken or chickpeas.
