Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground Turkey Lean source of protein; can substitute with ground chicken or beef.
  • 1 lb Brussels Sprouts Rich in vitamins; frozen Brussels sprouts work well if fresh aren’t available.
  • 1 medium Onion Adds sweetness; substitute with shallots or green onions.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Enhances flavor; fresh or powdered garlic will do.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For sautéing; can use vegetable or canola oil.
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth For moisture; you can use vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice Adds brightness; omit for a milder taste.
  • to taste Salt & Pepper For seasoning; adjust to your preference.
  • to taste Optional Red Pepper Flakes For heat; leave out if sensitive to spice.

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil and let it heat up.
  2. Add the ground turkey to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until it’s browned and crumbly, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Next, add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is softened.
  4. Stir in the halved Brussels sprouts and the optional red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth, cover the skillet, and let the Brussels sprouts cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they’re tender.
  6. Finally, stir in the lemon juice and give the skillet a taste. Adjust any seasonings as needed, and you’re ready to serve!

Notes

Prep ahead by washing and cutting Brussels sprouts the night before. Leftovers taste even better the next day!
