  • optional extra basil leaves For additional freshness and garnish.
  • optional drizzle extra virgin olive oil For an extra touch of richness.
  • optional pinch extra flaky salt For finishing touches to enhance flavors.
  • optional pinch red pepper flakes For a spicy kick.

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare the tomatoes. If using large tomatoes, slice into thick rounds using a sharp serrated knife. If using cherry tomatoes, halve them.
  2. Arrange the tomatoes. Spread the sliced or halved tomatoes across a wide, shallow serving platter.
  3. Add basil. Scatter fresh basil leaves throughout the tomatoes for a burst of flavor.
  4. Season the dish. Generously sprinkle flaky salt and freshly cracked black pepper over the tomatoes.
  5. Let it sit. Allow the seasoned tomatoes to sit for 1 to 2 minutes to enhance their flavor.
  6. Prepare the burrata. Remove the burrata from its liquid and gently blot it dry with a paper towel.
  7. Place burrata on the platter. Position the burrata in the center of the platter, or gently tear it open to reveal the creamy center.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil. Evenly drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the tomatoes and burrata to elevate the flavors.
  9. Add balsamic glaze. Thinly drizzle balsamic glaze over the entire arrangement for added sweetness and depth.
  10. Final seasoning. Finish with an additional pinch of flaky salt and fresh cracked black pepper.
  11. Serve immediately. Enjoy it with crusty bread, toasted baguette, sourdough, or garlic crostini for the best experience.

Notes

Always choose the freshest ingredients possible. Avoid over-salting, assemble right before serving, and consider incorporating other ingredients like olives or capers for added flavor.
