Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Opt for whole wheat for added fiber.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Can use coconut sugar for a hint of caramel flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Ensures the bread rises; not substitutable in this case.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Sea salt enhances flavors beautifully.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Feel free to add more for extra warmth.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted You can opt for coconut oil if dairy-free.
  • 1/2 cup milk Use almond milk for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 large eggs Use unsweetened applesauce as a vegan substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Vanilla bean paste offers a deeper flavor.
Filling
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples Any variety you love will work.
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce A homemade version can elevate the flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
Baking
  1. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, drizzle with caramel sauce, then top with the remaining batter.
  2. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the bread to cool before slicing and serving. Drizzle with extra caramel if desired.

Notes

Let your apples sit in the cinnamon and sugar mixture for about 10 minutes for extra flavor. Test for doneness by checking if the top springs back or using a toothpick.
