- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a baking dish, layer the cooked ground beef, followed by the mashed potatoes.
- Spread the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the potatoes.
- Drizzle melted butter over the cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
