Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine hash browns, cheddar cheese, sour cream, salt, onion, cream of chicken soup, and 1/2 cup melted butter in a large bowl.

- In a separate bowl, combine cornflakes and the remaining 1/4 cup melted butter, then sprinkle over the top of the casserole.
