  • 1 tsp Onion powder Complements the cheese well; onion flakes can substitute.
  • 1/2 cup Bacon bits (optional) Adds a nice crunch; diced mushrooms or tempeh are great vegetarian alternatives.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the jalapeno peppers in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and bacon bits if using.
Cooking
  1. Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeno half.
  2. Place the stuffed jalapenos on a baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  4. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then serve warm.

Notes

Serve with ranch dressing or avocado dipping sauce. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze uncooked stuffed jalapenos.
