Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking.
- In a bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Using a spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet, spaced about two inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
For extra chewiness, refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
