Preparation
- Soften the cream cheese by allowing it to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, whipped topping, and chocolate cake mix. Beat on medium-high speed for about 2 minutes until everything is smooth and fluffy, starting on low to avoid a cake mix cloud.
- Incorporate the hot fudge topping and heavy whipping cream to the mixture. Continue to beat until the mixture is completely smooth.
- If using, gently fold in mini chocolate chips.
- Serve immediately, or transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
Notes
Serve with a variety of fresh fruits like strawberries, bananas, and apples. Can also be paired with pretzels or graham crackers for added crunch. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
