  • 1 cup butter, softened Ensures a rich texture and aids in proper mixing.
  • 1 cup sugar For sweetness and chewiness.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Adds moisture and a deeper flavor.
  • 2 large eggs Binds the ingredients together.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Forms the base for the cookies.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda Provides lift.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness.
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Key ingredient for that satisfying chocolatey taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese, butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the cream cheese mixture, blending well until no flour streaks remain.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  2. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies. Mix semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips for enhanced flavor depth. Ensure to avoid overmixing the dough to keep cookies tender.
