Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  2. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

For chewier cookies, chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
