  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 cup milk Full-fat milk provides the best flavor
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter Can substitute with vegetable oil
Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or dark chocolate for a richer taste
For Frying
  • N/A Butter or oil For frying pancakes

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, mix together the milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Cooking
  1. Heat your frying pan over medium heat and add butter or oil.
  2. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the pan, cooking until bubbles form on top.
  3. Flip and cook until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with syrup, fruit compote, or powdered sugar.

Notes

For extra flavor, fold in some vanilla extract or a sprinkle of cinnamon. If feeling adventurous, try a drizzle of creamy maple syrup or whipped cream on top. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
