Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk, letting it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Combine flour, white sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add melted butter, vanilla, and the yeast mixture; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (approx. 1 hour).
Cooking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).
  3. Spread butter curls over the dough evenly, then sprinkle a combination of brown sugar and cinnamon across it.
  4. Roll the dough tightly into a log, then cut into equal pieces.
  5. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between them to rise.
  6. Let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the tops are golden brown and fragrant.
Serving
  1. While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting by mixing cream cheese, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and milk until smooth.
  2. Once baked, let rolls cool slightly before generously spreading them with frosting.
  3. Sprinkle any leftover cinnamon sugar over the frosted rolls for added flavor.
  4. Serve warm, and enjoy the melted creamy texture paired with the rich chocolate flavor!

Notes

For better flavor, let the dough rise in a slightly warm oven. Substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend if needed. Use a kitchen scale for precise measurements for best results. Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
