Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch sheet cake pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; mix until fully combined.
- Stir in boiling water until batter is smooth; it will be quite liquid.
- Pour into prepared pan and bake 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before frosting.
Notes
Using boiling water keeps this cake incredibly moist.
