- In a bowl, combine chopped cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, garlic powder, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper to prepare the marinade.

- Place chicken breasts or thighs in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish.
- Pour the marinade over the chicken and ensure it’s well-coated.
- Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2-4 hours.
Cooking
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it directly on the grill.
- Grill for about 6-7 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before slicing to retain juiciness.
