Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 9x5 inch loaf pan by lining it with parchment paper, allowing 2 inches to hang over the sides.
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, vegetable oil, both sugars, vanilla extract, eggs, and sour cream. Mix well using an electric hand mixer until smooth.
- Gradually add all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, kosher salt, and cinnamon. Mix until just combined.
- In a small bowl, combine the topping ingredients: sugar and cinnamon.
- In your prepared loaf pan, pour half of the banana bread batter. Top with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Pour the remaining batter over and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar topping.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for about 30 minutes before carefully lifting it out using the parchment paper. Transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Let the banana bread sit overnight before slicing for enhanced flavor. Can add mix-ins like nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
