Ingredients

Dressing Ingredients
  • 1 cup mayonnaise or plain Greek yogurt Greek yogurt offers a lighter option.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Agave syrup works as a substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar Lemon juice can be used instead.
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard Yellow mustard can also be used.
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed Optional; omit if not on hand.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt Enhance flavor to taste.
  • teaspoon black pepper White pepper is a subtle alternative.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together all dressing ingredients until well combined.
  2. Taste the dressing and add more salt and pepper as needed. Adjust sweetness or tanginess by adding more honey or apple cider vinegar.
  3. Use dressing immediately or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  4. To make coleslaw, toss about ¾ of the dressing with 6 cups of shredded cabbage and carrots or a 14-ounce bag of coleslaw mix. Adjust dressing for desired creaminess.
  5. Serve immediately or refrigerate; coleslaw is best enjoyed the day it is mixed with the dressing.

Notes

Allow coleslaw to rest for at least 30 minutes before serving to meld the flavors. Experiment with flavored mayonnaise, add fruits, or play with spices to elevate flavor.
