  • 1 box vanilla wafers Adds a satisfying crunch.
  • 4 ripe bananas Freshness and natural sweetness that layers beautifully.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine the whole milk, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens, approximately 10-12 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs. Gradually add some of the hot pudding mixture to the eggs to temper them, then return it all to the saucepan and cook for a couple more minutes until thickened.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly for about 15 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture.
Assembly
  1. In a dish, layer the vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and pudding mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top.
  2. Chill the dessert for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes
