Ingredients

For the pastry
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Can be substituted with phyllo dough for a different texture.
For the filling
  • 8 oz Brie Cheese Use camembert if Brie isn’t available.
  • 1/2 cup Cranberry Sauce Can swap with apricot jam for a fruity twist.
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Pecans Pecans can be replaced with walnuts or omitted for a nut-free version.
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Herbs (Rosemary or Thyme) Use dried herbs if fresh isn’t available; simply use less.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin with cooking spray or butter.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases and to slightly increase the size.
  3. Cut the puff pastry into small squares, approximately 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches.
  4. Gently press each square of puff pastry into the wells of the prepared mini muffin tin.
  5. Place a cube of Brie cheese in each puff pastry cup.
  6. Top the Brie with about a teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
  7. Sprinkle a few chopped pecans on top of the cranberry sauce.
  8. Optionally, you can add a little fresh rosemary or thyme on top for added flavor.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. If desired, drizzle a little honey over each bite before serving for extra sweetness.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Avoid overfilling the pastry cups to ensure even cooking. Let the pastries cool slightly before serving since the cheese can be extremely hot. For best results, allow the puff pastry to thaw completely before using. Experiment with flavored cheeses or fruit preserves for unique variations.
