  • 1/4 cup sugar Balances the savory flavors. Can reduce for a less sweet filling.
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash) Beat before brushing on for a golden finish.
  • to taste raspberry jam (for serving) Provides a sweet contrast to the richness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut into 4-inch squares.
  3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheese, and sugar until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold corners of the square over the filling and twist to form cruffin shape.
  6. Place in a greased muffin tin and brush tops with egg wash.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm with raspberry jam.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore crispness. Can be frozen for up to three months.
