  • 4 cups Chicken broth Preferably low-sodium
  • 1 cup Heavy cream For creaminess
Dumplings Ingredients
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup Butter, melted
  • 1 cup Milk Use more for a thinner batter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
  2. Add diced chicken, seasoning with salt and pepper, and cook until it sizzles and browns.
  3. Introduce diced onion, sliced carrots, and chopped celery to the pot and sauté until the vegetables soften (about 5-7 minutes).
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and stir in the heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Dumpling Preparation
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Stir in melted butter and milk until you have a thick dough.
  3. Drop dollops of the dough into the simmering broth and cover. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
Final Assembly
  1. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed, then serve hot topped with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a healthier twist, add in additional vegetables like peas or corn. Best served alongside homemade bread or a crisp green salad.
