Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot until it reaches 350°F.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut the pastry into triangles and roll each triangle into a cruffin shape.
Cooking
  1. Drop the shaped cruffins into the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  2. In a bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon for coating.
  3. While still hot, roll each cruffin into the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
Serving
  1. Poke a small hole in each cruffin and fill it with chocolate, jam, or cream cheese if desired, then serve warm.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. Freeze unfilled and cooled cruffins for up to two months.
