For the tilapia
  • 4 pieces tilapia fillets Fresh or thawed; a lean protein source.
  • 1 egg Acts as a binder to help the coating stick.
  • 1 tablespoon water Thins out the egg for easier dipping.
  • Olive oil spray Helps achieve the perfect crisp and golden finish.
For serving
  • Optional: Lemon wedges and chopped parsley For added freshness and visual appeal.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine grated Parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg and water together until well combined.
  4. Pat each tilapia fillet dry. Dip each fillet into the egg mixture and then press into the Parmesan mixture to coat both sides thoroughly.
  5. Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Cooking
  1. Place the coated fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer and spray the tops lightly with oil.
  2. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fillets are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 145°F).
Serving
  1. Enjoy immediately with optional lemon wedges and fresh parsley.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for best results.
