  • 1 large cucumber, thinly sliced Choose fresh cucumbers for the best texture and taste.
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Provides a creamy, rich base.
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or 1 tsp dried dill) Dill adds a pop of freshness; feel free to adjust to your taste.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential to enhance the flavors.
  • to taste Butter (optional, for spreading) Adding butter on the outside gives a beautiful golden crust if you decide to toast them.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with fresh dill, salt, and pepper, mixing until well blended and creamy.
  2. Generously spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place cucumber slices in a single layer on half of the bread slices.
  4. Top the cucumber-covered slices with the remaining bread slices, cream cheese side down and press gently.
  5. If desired, spread a thin layer of butter on the outside of the sandwiches.
  6. Cut off the crusts of the sandwiches using a sharp knife.
  7. Slice the sandwiches into quarters or triangles for presentation.
  8. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Cucumber sandwiches are best served on a beautiful platter and can be garnished with extra dill or cracked pepper. They pair well with herbal teas, sparkling water, or light wines.
