Ingredients

For the pudding mixture
  • 3.9 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix Any flavor of instant pudding can work if you want a twist.
  • 2 cups whole milk (chilled) Almond or soy milk can be used for a dairy-free option.
  • 8 ounces whipped topping (thawed) Homemade whipped cream is a delightful alternative.
For the cream mixture
  • ΒΌ cup unsalted butter (room temperature) Margarine can be used if preferred.
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature) Low-fat cream cheese can be an option.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted) Adjust to taste if you prefer it less sweet.
For assembly
  • 16 ounces Oreo cookies (crushed) Other cookies like chocolate wafers can also be used.
  • 24 pieces gummy worms Substitute with chocolate shavings for a more refined look.

Method

Preparation
  1. Mix the instant pudding mix with the chilled milk according to the package directions. Allow to set for 5 minutes.
  2. Once set, gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until well combined.
  3. Using a hand or stand mixer, cream the room-temperature butter and cream cheese together until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar and mix until the mixture turns light and airy.
  5. Combine the pudding mixture with the cream cheese mixture and stir well for an even consistency.
Assembly
  1. Transfer the combined mixture into a large Ziplock bag. Cut off one corner of the bag to easily fill serving cups.
  2. Pipe some of the cream mixture at the bottom of each cup.
  3. Add a layer of crushed Oreos, then pipe another layer of the cream mixture on top.
  4. Garnish with more crushed cookies and gummy worms for that authentic 'dirt' look.
  5. Serve immediately or chill until ready to enjoy.
