Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture until crumbly.
- Press half of the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Evenly spread the apple mixture over the crust.
- Crumble the remaining dough over the apple filling.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before drizzling with caramel.
