  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Can be replaced with crushed crackers or gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Pecorino Romano can be used for a sharper flavor.
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley Basil or oregano can also be used.
  • 1 large egg For a vegan option, substitute with 1 tablespoon flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons water.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Garlic powder can be used in a pinch.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper Red pepper flakes can be added for extra heat.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Use your favorite spice mix if desired.
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce Any store-bought or homemade tomato sauce works.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through, and serve warm with marinara sauce.

Notes

Make ahead: Prepare meatballs in advance and store in the fridge for a quick meal. They freeze well; place them on a tray to freeze individually before transferring to a freezer bag for up to three months.
