Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and position a rack in the middle.
  2. Check for bones by running your finger along the salmon fillets to ensure there are no pin bones; remove any if necessary.
  3. Use a pastry brush or your hands to coat the salmon fillets evenly with olive oil.
  4. Sprinkle kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and thyme on both sides of the salmon fillets.
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin side down in a baking dish and arrange lemon slices around if using.
Cooking
  1. Bake the salmon uncovered until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F, approximately 15 minutes.
  2. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For the best results, choose fresh salmon. Adjust seasonings to your taste and use a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Let the salmon rest before serving.
