Method
Cooking the Corn
- In a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbling.
- Add the corn and cook for 3–4 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Adding Cream
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. If you’re using cream cheese, add it at this stage.
- Add optional sugar, salt, and pepper and ensure everything is well combined.
Simmering
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
Finishing
- Stir in Parmesan cheese if desired and adjust seasoning to taste.
Serving
- Serve warm as a side dish with your favorite meals, such as fried chicken or grilled meats.
Notes
For a quicker meal, use frozen corn. For a lighter version, substitute part of the heavy cream with low-fat milk.
