Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 cups corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned and drained) Provides the base flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons butter Adds richness and depth.
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half) Ensures a creamy consistency.
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese Optional, for extra creaminess.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Optional, enhances sweetness.
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt Elevates flavor.
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper Adds a gentle kick.
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese Optional, offers a savory, cheesy finish.

Method

Cooking the Corn
  1. In a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbling.
  2. Add the corn and cook for 3–4 minutes until heated through, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Adding Cream
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well. If you’re using cream cheese, add it at this stage.
  2. Add optional sugar, salt, and pepper and ensure everything is well combined.
Simmering
  1. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
Finishing
  1. Stir in Parmesan cheese if desired and adjust seasoning to taste.
Serving
  1. Serve warm as a side dish with your favorite meals, such as fried chicken or grilled meats.

Notes

For a quicker meal, use frozen corn. For a lighter version, substitute part of the heavy cream with low-fat milk.
