- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the rice and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the rice is lightly toasted.
Cooking
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff with a fork, season with salt and pepper, and garnish with parsley if desired before serving.
Notes
Do not skip toasting the rice for enhanced flavor. For added flavor, toss in a bay leaf during cooking and sprinkle with toasted almonds or crumbled feta for presentation.
