  • 2 cups Chicken broth Vegetable broth can be used for a vegetarian option.

  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped Any fresh herb can be used.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the rice and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the rice is lightly toasted.
Cooking
  1. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
  3. Fluff with a fork, season with salt and pepper, and garnish with parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

Do not skip toasting the rice for enhanced flavor. For added flavor, toss in a bay leaf during cooking and sprinkle with toasted almonds or crumbled feta for presentation.
