- Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook until caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme; bring to a simmer.
- Stir in heavy cream and let it thicken slightly.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle grated Gruyère cheese on top and broil until bubbly and golden.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. While best enjoyed fresh, this dish can be frozen (before adding cheese) for up to 3 months.
