  • 1/2 cup milk Adds creaminess; you can substitute with heavy cream for richer bites.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Creates the crispy outer layer; panko breadcrumbs add amazing crunch.
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour Helps the coating stick; can substitute with gluten-free flour if desired.
  • 2 large eggs Acts as a binder; egg substitutes like flaxseed can work as well.
  • to taste teaspoon salt and pepper Enhance the overall flavor.
  • as needed cup oil for frying Peanut or canola oil works well for frying these bites.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix cooked macaroni, cheese, milk, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into bite-sized balls.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. In another bowl, place the breadcrumbs and flour.
  4. Dip each ball in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Fry the bites until golden brown on all sides.
  3. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Serve these bites hot with a variety of dipping sauces like marinara or ranch. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. They can also be frozen.
