Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 lbs sirloin steak Can substitute with flank or ribeye for more flavor.
  • 1.5 lbs baby potatoes Can substitute with any small potatoes or sweet potatoes.
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil Use avocado oil for a lighter flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons butter Substitute with ghee for a dairy-free option.
  • 5-6 cloves garlic, minced Garlic powder can work as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Swap with smoked paprika for deeper flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs Any dried herbs can also be used.
  • to taste salt and black pepper Feel free to experiment with seasoned salt.
  • for garnish fresh parsley, chopped Omit if not available.

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the potatoes, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, cooking until they’re golden and fork-tender for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and set aside.
  3. Season steak cubes with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs.
Cooking
  1. In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Sear steak in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
  2. Avoid overcooking for a tender bite.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Return the potatoes to the pan, tossing everything together. Cook for 1-2 more minutes to heat through.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the pan when cooking the steak to ensure searing rather than steaming. Always let your steak rest before cutting into it for best results.
