Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan or pot, melt butter or ghee over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes or until softened.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
Cooking
  1. Add turmeric powder and stir to combine.
  2. Mix in the basmati rice and stir to combine. Cook for about 1 minute or until lightly toasted.
  3. Add chicken stock, salt, and pepper. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed.
  5. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
Serving
  1. Drizzle finished rice with lemon juice and garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro.
  2. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear to avoid stickiness. Use fresh ingredients for maximum flavor. Consider adding cooked vegetables for extra nutrition.
