Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place uncooked pie crust in pie tin.
- In a small bowl, microwave butter until completely melted. Add 1 cup of the chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, stir together flour and sugars. Slowly add the chocolate/butter mixture and stir until blended.
- Add eggs, one at a time, and vanilla. Fold in pecans, coconut, and remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips.
- Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie crust. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is set—don't overbake!
- Allow to cool before serving. Optional: top with whipped topping, toasted coconut, and chocolate shavings or dust with a little cocoa powder.
Notes
Use high-quality ingredients for the best results. Avoid overbaking to prevent a dry filling. Allow the pie to chill in the fridge for a firmer texture.
