Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Fresh green beans For crispiness and vibrant color.
  • 1 cup Fresh basil, chopped Adds aroma and flavor, the star of the salad.
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil Provides healthy fats and richness.
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice Introduces acidity that brightens flavors.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced For added depth of flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Enhances all other ingredients.

Method

Preparation
  1. Blanch the green beans: Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process.
  2. Drain and cool: Once the green beans have cooled completely, drain them well.
  3. Prepare the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until thoroughly combined.
  4. Combine beans and basil: In a large bowl, mix the cooled green beans and chopped basil.
  5. Drizzle and toss: Pour the dressing over the salad and gently toss to combine.
  6. Serve chilled or at room temperature: This salad can be enjoyed right away or stored for later.

Notes

Blanch green beans until just bright green for optimal texture. Consider adding chopped nuts for added texture and protein. If making in advance, store the dressing separately until ready to serve for maximum freshness.
